One of the most unforgettable things to do in Bali is snorkeling with Manta Rays at Manta Point, located near the western coast of Nusa Penida. This area is known for its dramatic limestone cliffs and stunning coastal views shaped by strong waves from the Indian Ocean.
What makes Manta Point special?
This spot is home to Manta Rays all year round! The water is full of plankton, which not only attracts these gentle giants but also brings in seabirds and other sea creatures. It’s also a “cleaning station”—a place where Mantas come to get cleaned by small fish. That means you can often see them gliding gracefully around you. Sometimes just one, sometimes 20 at once!.
It’s a truly magical moment as the Mantas swim in circles nearby—calm, curious, and unbothered by your presence. They might even come close just to feel the bubbles from your snorkel gear!.
🌟 Bonus: In the dry season, you might also spot the rare Mola-Mola (sunfish) in the deeper areas!.

Cash is essential in many parts of Indonesia, especially on smaller islands and in traditional markets. You can use cards in most cities and tourist areas. It’s better to exchange money in the city than at the airport for a better rate.
ATMs are widely available, but check with your bank about international fees
The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Although some tourist spots might accept US dollars, using local currency is the best choice.
Indonesian money (IDR) has a lot of zeros. Take time to learn the difference between 1,000 and 10,000 – 2,000 and 20,000 – 5,000 and 50,000, and the highest note, which is 100,000 rupiah.
Internet is decent in cities and touristy areas. Get a local SIM (Telkomsel and XL) at the airport or in town for affordable data.
eSIMs are also an option—great if your phone supports them and you want to avoid swapping cards.
The trip from your hotel to Sanur Harbour will be in a private car, accommodating maximum 5 persons.
The fastboat ride to Nusa Penida will be shared with other passengers.
However, during the snorkeling activity in Nusa Penida, your group will join a shared boat with other participants, with a maximum of 10 people per boat.
To make the most of your Nusa Penida Snorkeling adventure, we recommend bringing the following items:

– Waterproof bag or dry bag for valuables.
