This protected coastal site includes three shallow saline lakes, coastal wetlands, and a scenic beach—hence the name Tasi‑Tolu, meaning “three waters” in Tetum. The area covers around 700 hectares and has been designated a Wetland of National Significance and an Important Bird Area (IBA)
